RECENT FORM VS. COLUMBUS CREW

This will be the second and final meeting between the Revs and Crew this regular season, as the sides played to a 2-2 draw at Gillette Stadium on May 7. It was the third straight draw in the series, and kept the Revs unbeaten in four meetings (1-0-3) since Columbus beat New England in the 2020 Eastern Conference Final en route to an MLS Cup title. A little more than one year ago the Revs opened Lower.com Field with a 2-2 draw, getting goals from Gustavo Bou and Tajon Buchanan at Columbus' new stadium, and Saturday will be the Revolution's second visit to the venue.

Columbus will enter the weekend as one of Major League Soccer's hottest teams, having stretched their current unbeaten run to eight games (4-0-4) with a 2-0 win over rivals FC Cincinnati on Sunday night at Lower.com Field. Buoyed by the recent arrival of forward Cucho - who has bagged four goals in his first 137 minutes of MLS action - the Crew have climbed to sixth in the Eastern Conference standings following a slow start to the year. Defensively sound, Columbus have conceded just 22 goals through 20 games, tied for third-fewest in all of MLS.

The Revs have now dropped back-to-back road games at New York City FC and the Philadelphia Union, results that snapped what had been a 10-game unbeaten run for New England. Gustavo Bou has stayed red hot by scoring all three of the Revolution's goals in those losses, and the Argentine striker now has seven goals and one assist in his last eight appearances. Saturday night will close out the Revs' three-game road swing before returning to Gillette Stadium at the end of the month.

Four points currently separate these sides in the East, making Saturday night's showdown yet another six pointer in the race for playoff positioning.

SHOW YOUR COLORS

The Revs will be sporting their new primary kit, “The Liberty.” The bespoke pattern is inspired by Boston’s Freedom Trail, a walking trail through the heart of Boston which passes 16 historical sites from the American Revolution – which gives a nod to the club name. This sleek new look will be paired with blue shorts, conveying a defiant, bold and strong look.

The club is reverting to blue shorts for the first time since 2013 to complement “The Liberty”. This is to convey a bold and strong one-color look, in-keeping with the New England’s defiant spirit while also enabling the new logo the chance to shine in its first time on a kit.

You can purchase “The Liberty” HERE.
